Ripley’s Aquarium
The new 43 Million Dollar Gatlinburg Ripley's Aquarium is now open, and has attracted an average of well over 3,000 visitors daily during its first few weeks of operation. Open 365 days a year, it is certain to become one of the county's very top attractions!
Size: 87,000 square feet. The aquarium rises five stories (56 feet), fronted by a water wall of 16 feet tall. Educational Facilities: On-staff educator, classroom and science laboratory with audio-visual equipment and wet-lab tables for hands-on experiences with marine specimens. An adjoining exhibit area features changing displays, films and live presentations. Educational tours available by prior arrangement; see group reservations telephone number below.
Guided Tours: By arrangement. Group Tours: Guided tours and special-pricing admission for groups of 20 or more available by prior arrangement.
Special events and private catered functions: Arranged on a per-event basis. Visitors with disabilities: All exhibits are completely accessible to the handicapped.
Food services: Seating for up to 350 includes the Feeding Frenzy view restaurant on the top level, serving fresh food for the family, and Treasured Treats near the entrance to Rainbow Rock, serving deserts/chocolates/ice cream/coffees/tea.
Gift Shop: Film; art; CD's and videos; gifts and books relating to marine life; and games and other items of special interest.
Photography: Taking pictures of aquarium exhibits is permitted, but please do not use flash except in designated areas.
